Hi, I am trying version 2.0.3.
Very pleased with Open Office as I get used to it, like most features as
much as and some features more than MS Word.
Couple of problems, using XP home have tried to find an elusive OO
document but found even known titles are not identified in the search
results even when searching under the "all files" option. any way to
search for OO docs?
The search function is a program of your Operating System, Windows, so
you would have to take this up with them. You could also try an external
desktop search tool like Google Desktop, as I know that they have added
support to search for text within OO docs as well. (either standard or
you might have to install a plug-in for it, I'm not sure - I use Beagle
on Linux).
Another thing I noted after downloading the auto update of Windows
verification from Windows was that the Open office shortcut from the
desktop & programs list disappeared. This was not noticed for a day or
so, the OO program was still there but could only be started by opening
an existing OOffice file. Had to download again.
You probably didn't have to download and install again, you could have
just re-made the shortcuts to the program by editing your menus.
Thanks for the good work you are all doing.
