In my experience I would answer this with an emphatic "Yes!" While the p2p protocol is, indeed, a two way street, it also is highly interruptable and performs error detection and correction. I strongly recommend it for *any* dial up user and feel that is is the preferred method to download any very large file even on a high speed connection. OOo releases certainly qualify as "very large" files.
