I referred you to the chapter Differences in Use Between Calc and Excel.
The one you showed the link to is a chapter of that name but it is
nearly 2 years old and has been superseded. Here is the link to the most
up to date version:

(Hint for future reference: I did a Google search on "Differences in Use
Calc Excel" and the first selection was the correct link for the up to
date chapter. Google is often helpful in finding things like this.)
See page 2. This method does indeed work as many people can attest. If
it doesn't work for you, I have to conclude that you're doing something
different from everyone else. I see that someone else responded with
highly detailed instructions; hopefully by following those instructions
you can determine what it is you're doing that is causing it to not work
for you.
