Hi Robert,
You don't mention which version of windows you're using, so this may not apply. Under Win2k, using windows file open dialogue (tools / options / openoffice, org / general - clear the 'Use OpenOffice.org dialogs' checkbox), my dialogue has ''My Network Places' on the left side. I can browse the network by clicking that icon.

p.s. Since you're new to the list, I hope you won't mind me pointing out that asking for read receipts may not be considered the best etiquette. There are thousands of users on this list. You probably don't want to hear from all of us.

Hello,

I am new to the list. We are planning to switch our company from MS-Office to
OOo (v2.0.3), and I am
looking for drawbacks. It seems that, on Windows, OOo is not able to browse the
MS Network : correct
? I mean : with MS-Word, one may start Word, go to "File/Open" and there browse
the MS network. Not
being able to browse the network may be an annoyance for accustomed users.
However, OOo is able to
open a network file from a file manager. Strange ? Any information about a
possible deadline for
implementing a network browser ?

Best regards
