Ah... the output is a little different if you are tool bar icons.
Behind the scenes (when using the icons) the column to sort on does
not change. Therefore even if you click on a cell in "C", behind the
scenes column "A" is still selected for the sort.

To make sure you sort the column required, I've always done data >
sort which gives you all the options about sorting multiple columns,
whether the data contains header rows, etc...
