Ah... the output is a little different if you are tool bar icons. Behind the scenes (when using the icons) the column to sort on does not change. Therefore even if you click on a cell in "C", behind the scenes column "A" is still selected for the sort.

Sorry I'm coming late to this thread. I have three simple columns ABC. When I click any cell in column A and hit the sort button, all three columns are sorted with A as the reference. However when I click on any cell in, say, column C then all three are again sorted but with A as reference not C. Is this intentional? it is not helpful.
