Hello,
I'm running 2.0.3 on WinXP pro.
I've entered my name/address/telephone details in
Tools/Options/OpenOfice.org/UserDetails.
If I make a label and click "address", I get my name *and* address but ...
When I make an envelope, if I click the "Sender" checkbox, I *only* get my
name, *not* my address.
Please, how do I get OO to put my address in the Sender details?
I've searched the Help and also the manual at
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/OOo2.x/user_guide2_draft.pdf but
to no avail.
Hello Harold,
I think you've hit a problem related to the antecedents of Open Office,
namely a German product with an American ownership. Nothing wrong with
that, but it does mean that address formatting is idiosyncratic and not
at all related to Royal Mail standards:-)
I've tried to recreate your problem, but in my case I get my address
(partially), but no forename, surname, Post Code or County!
May I suggest you use a far more reliable (and easier) method of
envelope production by simply creating appropriate templates. I use DL
and C5, for example, and satisfactorily formatting the return address
twice, instead of every time you want an envelope, strikes me as the
best way forward. If you need such templates, let me know your
requirements and I'll send them off-list.
