For those who are familiar with M$ Excel, I can, I think express what we are trying to do.

We do our subtotal and then collapse the outline so that only the subtotal and grand total lines are displayed.

Now we select the data. In Excel, our next step would be Edit > Go To. Click Special. Click Visible Cells Only. Click OK

Now we would copy and paste. Its that selecting only the visible cells that we either can't do or don't know how to.

"Paste special" is not doing what I want (or I am not using it
correctly). Let me give an example. Subtotalling the following table
ProdA 5
ProdA 7
ProdA 3
ProdB 1
ProdB 4
ProdB 2

will add following rows

Subtotal ProdA 15
Subtotal ProdB 7
Grand Total 22

When I select "outline level 2", data before subtotalling hides and only
new rows are displayed. I need to copy only those new. Thanks a lot.

Hello.

Subject says it all - I have subtotalled some data and need to copy subtotals sans original data.
Any way of doing that in Calc?

Thanks a lot.

Kirill:

Do you mean you need to only copy the number, and not the formula?

If so, try copying the cell (Ctrl-C or whatever), then going to the cell where you want the info, and then do Edit->Paste Special. Unselect "Paste All" and then tick the ones you do want to paste. I would think you would for sure want to uncheck "Formulas". You can play around until you get what you want.

Does that do it?
