Yes you can.
I too had noticed that the download page only mentions NT, 2000 and
XP, but it is made clear elsewhere on the site (under System
Requirements) that the program also works under Windows 98 and
Windows ME. And this is correct, since I run it just fine under
Windows 98.

I, too, have OpenOffice.org version 2.0.3 running on a laptop
using Windows 98SE.
