Click View at the top of the OpenOffice.org window. You should
see a check mark in front of Field Names. Click Field Names to remove
the check mark. Then the page numbers should appear instead of the
word "Page numbers."
When Field names is checked, the names of the field appear
instead of the value of the field. This is used to make sure that the
right field has been used. That is its main purpose. When Field names
is not checked, all inserted fields show their value. As in this
case, 1, 2, 3 etc. will appear on pages 1, 2, 3, etc.
