I've been trying to download the free open office suite and everytime I do it

copy that is free of corruption. Thank you.

The first thing to do is see if your download is corrupt. If you're
using Firefox, check out these instructions:

A quick google found this windows-based md5 GUI:
http://www.toast442.org/md5/
MD5 is a way of creating a signature for a file. I'm assuming you're
on Windows. If not, open up a terminal and simply run md5sum
<filename>, where <filename> is the path to the download. Once you
have generated the md5sum, reply to the list and paste it in. Also,
provide the link that you're using to download the file. I'll see if
my download gives me the same md5sum.

There is a small line at the bottom of the download box at

-Roberto.
I would also suggest you look into a download manager if you are on
dialup. This can help to re-start stopped downloads, with is very
possible for this size of download.
You could also see about ordering a copy from an independent distributor
(cost of CD + shipping is what they should charge), or ask a friend with
high speed internet to download it and burn it on a CD for you.
Hope this helps,
Crystle
