One of the things I've noticed about this mail list, which is unlike other
mail lists to which I subscribe, is that the behaviour of the Reply and
Reply All buttons appears to be totally random:
Sometimes Reply behaves like Reply All - includes in the To address of the
reply the From *and* To addresses from the original.
Sometimes the Reply *only* includes [email protected] but does *not*
include the original sender
Sometimes the Reply All includes the original sender and
[email protected]
Sometimes Reply All includes [email protected] *twice* but does *not*
include the original sender
Now I know I am a poor benighted soul who insists on using Outlook Express
on Windows but, as I said, OE behaves "properly" on other mailing lists.
This strange behaviour does *not* seem to depend on whether the word
"[moderated]" appears in the Subject which, I am informed, is an indication
(how reliable?) that the user is not subscribed.
It would be really nice if someone could fix this.

The problem is that some of the folks posting via Gmane expect replies
to come directly to them rather than the NewsGroup (mailing list.) Thus
replies are missed and then the original poster comes back with a
message that equates us to snobs, which I can grant we are not.
I have run into this problem on the Mac porting mail list where
we also answer MacIntosh specific questions on several occasions.
Also, requesting that someone subscribe to this list to get a one-off
answer is very rude, at best. It might be best to see if the Gmane
folks can put a warning that message replies to the OpenOffice.org
mailing lists will go to the newsgroup rather than to the individual
poster and that they must check back for replies.

Do all gmane posts have the same gmane headers? Such as:
X-Injected-Via-Gmane: http://gmane.org/
Sender: news <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Because then those of us that have filters to highlight unsubscribed
posters (those that go to the moderator) can also flag these in order to
send responses cc'd to the OP.
