Frank: Yes there is a port for the Intel based MacBook for American English.
Go to the main OpenOffice.org page and there should be a download link on the page for OpenOffice.org 2.0 for the Mac Intel. Follow the link and you should get to a list of mirror sites for the product. Download the file (it is about 130MB in size). Once the file is downloaded, double click on it and you should see another window with the OpenOffice.org icon. Drag this icon to the Applications folder. Once the contents of the icon are copied, change to the Applications folder, click on the icon and OpenOffice.org should start if X11 is installed on your computer. If X11 is not installed on your computer, you will need to install it from the installation disks that came with your MacBook. The product is in the optional install packages install program. If you need additional help installing OpenOffice.org please use the [email protected] mailing list. This list is for development efforts related to the Mac OS X port.
