Then you'll have to get someone to help you with the XP issue, as it
doesn't sound like it is an OOo issue - to uninstall.

If you still have any OOo menu items, you could try the Repair option
if it is there, or the Uninstall.
Otherwise, you'll have to find someone to 'clean up' XP first.
Generally, in Windows, until all files that need to be removed or
replaced are no longer in use you can't remove or upgrade the previous
version of an application.
In this case, I suspect that the OOo quickstart component is still
running, in which case you need to end/close it manually. To make
matters worse, on newer XP versions the OOo quickstarter icon doesn't
show in the XP Quickstart bar (at least on XPs that I've installed OOo
on) and so, you need to open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del and then
click the Task Manager button), select the "soffice.bin" or
"soffice.exe" task and click "End Task".
It may also work to logout and then login again before attempting to
install the new version, but not if the OOo quickstarter starts
automatically.
