Hi;

I know there is a developer's list but I can't even get started with
Software Development Kit . It's a result of my own confusion. I am
building a spread sheet project to be shared with Linux Calc and Windows
Excel users.

I want to install the SDK on my Calc machine to build scripts and alter
macros.

I have downloaded OOo_2.0.2_LinuxIntel_sdk.sh as directed into
a /download directory. I am working as user - not root.

Confusions:

1) Do I even want the SDK? I just want to build what is, in effect,
advanced Macros or small scripts. I am at 'the get the spread sheet to
kinda look like or do what I want with a recorded macro', then edit the
code to include changes and improvements.

I would also like to build a control board (for different configurations
of a single spreadsheet) and input forms for users.

2) Do I have SDK already installed? I clicked on
OOo_2.0.2_LinuxIntel_sdk.sh last night used 'open with Wordprocessor';
it ground away for over 1 hour but didn't do much. Couldn't 'find' any
reference to SDK on my system.

3) OOo API site says "please refer to the SDK Installation Guide", can't
find an Installation Guide except for Java but I want to use UNO Basic.

4) Because OOo_2.0.2_LinuxIntel_sdk.sh is a *.sh file should I be using
the command line? As user or as root? I expected an rpm or *.tar.gz but
whatever.

5) Does SDK find its own directories, or does it have its own preferred
directories where I have to install it, or should I place it in *my*
preferred directory before I install?

6) I have used VBA in the past; should I be confused with installing
SDK?

I am using Fedora Core 5 and OO.org 2.0.2.
