Here's an educated guess. Somehow the top-level bullets have been
replaced with a graphic (the frowny face). If you use the List 1
style for your top-level bullets, this replacement would have
happened there.
Use F11 to open the Styles and Formating window. Click the List
Styles icon ((fifth from the left). Right click List 1, and click
Modify from the context menu. Click the Options tab. See if the drop
down list after "Numbering" has Graphic or Bullet. If it has Graphic,
change it to Bullet. Since all ten levels are listed, you might want
to check all the levels individually. When finished, click OK.
Since this happened to everyone's documents at the same time,
someone or something may have changed this setting on the server.
Perhaps someone else can explain where and how to make that change.
