Thank-you to the folks who set me straight on the adding of zip file fonts--I've become so Open Office-centrist that it never once occurred to me that this was a larger Windows issue all along! Any day now, and I'll be trying to brew coffee or play a vinyl LP with this program. Whatever the case, thanks again for pointing out the obvious--I was ready to yell for Spider-Man!!
R. W. Watkins P.S. In the process, I've even managed to track down the 'backwards letters' (mirror images) font I was asking folks for help in finding a couple of months back. I've installed it, and am now able to put the proper finishing touches on my concrete haiku manuscript.
