It's working here in Mepis Linux, with BibleTime and OOo and the en_US.utf8 locale. I can cut and paste both Hebrew and Greek text from BibleTime to OOo.

So this IS a fix, at least for some situations. As I missed the beginning of the conversation, what distro are you using?

Also, are you sure that the locale actually changed? I know that in some distros it can be hard to change the locale and make it stick.
