Tobias:

You need to install X11 from your Tiger or system installation disks. The
version available from Apple for download is for Mac OS X 10.3 only.

Once you insert your Tiger disk into your system and wait until the install
software screen comes up, scroll down the page until you see optional
installation packages. Click on this item. Navigate through the various
screens until you get to the X11 User package (X11User.pkg). Select and
install this package only. When the installation complete screen comes up, you
may remove the disk from your system. To test the X11 installation, click on
the MacIntosh HD icon on your desktop, then the Applications folder on the left
side, then scroll down the window until the Utilities folder is visible. Click
on this folder, again scroll down until the X11 icon is visible. Click on this
icon and a xterm window should open with the X11 top menu bar. You may leave
the xterm window open or you can click on it and type in exit, which should
close the window. At this point, you may install OpenOffice.org.

If you are wondering, yes the Mac OS X porting team is working on a native
version of OpenOffice.org that will not require the installation nor use of X11.
