You state that you installed X11 from the installation disk. Can you please check the installation by doing the following for me please:

1. Open the Macintosh HD item on the desktop by clicking in it.
2. Change to the Applications item by clicking on it.
3. Navigate to the Utilities folder and open it.
4. Locate the X11 icon and click on it to start X11.
5. You should see a terminal window with xterm at the top. Please change to this window and type in ls.
6. You should get a file listing.
7. Exit the window by typing in exit.

If you DO NOT get a result from steps 6 or 7 or X11 is NOT in the Utilities folder, please reinstall X11 from your installation DVD.

If you do get a result from Step 6 AND 7, please advise where you obtained your copy of OpenOffice.org.

I replied to your gmail.com account, but please reply only to the mailing list. Others may be waiting on your reponses to my questions.

Subject: [users] keeps saying I need Apple X11

Greetings.

I just switched from a pc to a macbook. I downloaded OpenOffice and
tried to run the installer, but it keeps telling me that I need to
first install Apple x11. I did install it from the cd that came with
my computer. What am I missing?
