I've interlineated a comment.

Do they extend background and font colour dialogues in Calc and other specific palettes?

If you rename it to standard.soc, and place in the correct place, it
will do that.

Possibly you do not use the spreadsheet. The palettes for font and background colour contain 10 patches of "white".

It has also been pointed out to me that the colours in those palettes are not laid out in a logical order.

I'm not sure that simply replacing the standard palette will improve the selection (and it is only a selection) in those particular palettes (or palettes designed for other specific uses).

I notice that your various palettes differ markedly in size, which made me wonder whether they were intended for different purposes.

Note: Color palette changes take place only after OOo has been
completly shut, and then started. [Wondering if it is worthwhile to
write a macro to copy palettes over, as needed.]

Instructions might be simpler. If you include macros, you'll have to add instructions on how to file and run the macros. [Imagine a smiley with an expression of extreme dismay, if not pain.]
