I read an .sxc spreadsheet from a USB stick, change a few fields and try
to Save it.
Get 'Could not create backup copy' message and no saving gets done.
Saving to normal harddiska works fine. 'SaveAs' to USB stick does work
normally and I can simulate 'Save' by doing 'SaveAs' but with the
original filename. That works too.
Any ideas how to use the normal Save??
Am I correct in thinking that 'Save' writes my document to a temporary
file and once that write is successful renames the temporary file to
become the new file?
I am worried about extra copies floating around as I write the file to
the USB stick exactly because the content is confidential.
Any clarification on this point might help me try to understand why a
backup copy is involved at all when I just try to save my spreadsheet.
