Greetings. I am using OpenOffice 2.0.3 in Windows XP professional. My problem 
is that standard.dic (in writer) will not update to include new words that I 
add.

In my typing I want to improve my dictionary database so that the many words 
that I use do not get underlined in spellcheck. I keep adding them, but then 
the next time I open the document, the words are underlined again so that I 
have to keep adding them to standard.dic over and over. Yet when I add them the 
underline disappears so that is seems the word has been added.

When I get an underlined word, I do right click / add / standard.dic.

What am I doing wrong, or is there a program problem?

Can I get to the standard.dic file manually so that I can update the actual 
dictionary myself so that it will work?
