Michael: No, you are not doing something wrong. X11 is a windowing system that is usually found on most UNIX systems. Apple decided not to include this product in its basic operating system installation. However, it is not difficult to install and requires the use of the installation diskset that came with your iMac(s).
Insert the installation disk into the optical drive and wait for the software installation screen to come up. Select Optional Packages, which you may have to scroll down the screen to see, and then install ONLY the X11 User package. Once the installation screen states that the package was successfully installed, eject the disk and attempt to start up OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 (that is the latest version for American English, German, Italian, French and Japanese.) You should be asked if you want to use the system fonts. If you still receive an error advising that you do not have X11 installed, please post a message on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list.
