When you say the problem is still there, you mean the original problem -
the document problem?
I would create a new document with that style and transfer the contents
of the old document to it.
Or is the problem that Writer will not open? Can the missing dll be
restored from your Windows installation or is it an OpenOffice file?

I am running OpenOffice 2.0.3 on WindowsME and have been successful for
about two months.
I wish to create a new document similar to one I have worked on, and
created a page style for the introduction.
That style is based on Default, is named "Intro", has different
margins, header on, footer on.
After using the First Page style for my title page I inserted a manual
page break and made the next page sytle Intro. That worked but I
discovered that the following page was Default.
I deleted the new page, changed the Intro page style to show the next
page to be Intro. Now if I save the document or attempt to insert a
page using the Intro style the program fails, and so does the crash
report. The message that appears is: Crashrep has caused an error in
KERNEL32.DLL. Crashrep will now exit.
The message suggests rebooting the computer if the problem persists. I
have done that and it did not help.
I ran the OO setup program and did a repair. After that Writer would
not open because STLPORT_VC7145.DLL was not found.
I ran the OO setup program, did a remove, ran it again and did an
install. The problem is still there.
The other large document I have been working on has a page style defined
the same as Intro in the new document and it works correctly.
