I will presume you have a Windows computer. What do you mean by the
documents "end up in openoffice" after you email them? If you are
saving them as Microsoft documents they will have Microsoft filename
extensions, such as ".doc" for a Word document. These should open
just fine on your co-workers computers after you email them.
I suspect what you mean is that when *you* double click on the MS
documents you created, they are opened in OpenOffice. Your brother
apparently set things up so OO will open up MS documents. If he did
not ask you whether this is what you want, he did you no favor!
(sorry to speak ill of your brother)
If you definitely will not be needing the openoffice.org programs,
you should use Add or Remove Programs on your computer and remove
openoffice.org. After that you should no longer need to do anything
special, MS Office will once again rule the world. :-)

Please help! These openoffice.org programs were installed on my
computer by my well-meaning brother. They may be good programs, but
my work place needs everything in microsoft. I open files in
Microsoft, save them and then try to send them but they end up in
openoffice!
My work place does not have open office software nor do they want
it. Theya re not able to open or print anything I send them. If they
do, the text appears in an encrypted mess.
Am I able to keep openoffice from consuming my files and prevent
it from corrupting microsoft functions?
PLEASE HELP!
