The Position and Size menu really only lets you move or othogonally stretch/shrink the entire shape. In Draw, when you move one of the vertices with the mouse, a cursor moves along each of the scaled orthogonal axes shown in the main view. I don't think this is accurate enough but it may help ???? This doesn't happen in Writer but the OP could use Draw for shapes and then copy/paste them into the Writer document. Or not? Also, when moving vertices in Draw, you can turn off "Snap to Grid" which gives a much finer level of control. You seem to get this feature when you right click inside the polygon *without* having selected it first but this is such a weird interface that I'm not sure I'm right. You can also make the grid visible using the View/Grid menu. Oh, I just discovered that that same menu lets you toggle Snap to Grid so the "weird interface" is probably an afterthought and perhaps quite convenient after all. Not exactly intuitive though.
