Hi Terry,

I assume, you tried to install the wrong version of X11.

Is there a "X11"-Icon (program) in your Applications/Utilities?

If it is not, please have a look into:
 a picture-guide for intalling Mac X11 version:
(thanks to Carlo Gandolfi).
http://www.freesmug.org/tutorial/X11_10.4
(with video, linked) .
or:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301229

If this will not answer your question, please have a look at the wiki

If this will not work then, please tell us the Version of your MAC- OS, is it 10.3.? or do you use the 10.4.? Do you use an Intel (MacBook / MB Pro / MacMini ) or an PowerPC- Machine (PowerBook, G4, G5, G4-MacMini)
