What version of OO - you just say 2.0, but is it 2.0.2 or 2.0.3? The
"headline" in Help/About says 2.0. Look below the headline for the full version.
Which Operating System?
On Windows XP Pro/SP2 using OO 2.0.3, having sized the text box simply start
typing. Do *not* click the mouse before typing. It seems that if you click the
mouse while the text box is empty, the effect is to delete the text box.
Perhaps not what I would have expected ...
When you have finished typing, click *outside* the box.
To modify the text later, double click on it. The text box will open with
hatching around it to show you its boundary and the cursor will appear as a
vertical bar positioned to the left of the text.
A single click on the text will open the text box with "handles" so that it can
be moved or resized. No cursor will appear.
In both the above cases, the mouse pointer will change to a cross with an
arrowhead at each of its four ends.
When you are typing text, right clicking brings up a text formatting menu.
While moving/resizing the box, right clicking brings up a different ("box
editing") menu.
