Perhaps you need to look at the message a little closer. The
usual statement is:
This document may contain formatting or content that cannot be
saved in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP file format.
What this means is that OOo and MS Word are not 100% compatable.
There can be a small loss in formating when saving in MS Office
Word's file format. As long as your documents are not too complicated
as far as formating is concerned, there will be no decernable
difference.
I would recommend a trial run. Create a document in OOo and save
it as a MS Office Word file. (Click Yes when you see the warning.)
Send it to a computer that has MS Office installed on it. Open it in
MS Office to see if there are any differences. (You could also try
this in the rtf format.
