If you use Outlook Express and you uninstall MS Office, you will lose the spell check functionality. OE can't be persuaded to use OO's spell checker. There are separate spell checkers available - I use the non-free ABCSpell from www.isota.com (I am not connected to the company in any way other than as a satisified customer) but there may be freebies out there too. I *think* the same applies to Outlook but I'm not sure; it may have its own spell checker.
