Thanks for the update, Sandy. I guess I'll have to do more investigating.
It did occur to me that 0.17" for one row height should not necessarily equate to 0.34" for two row heights. The 0.17 (more likely 12 points or 1/6 inch) probably consists of font height + upper and lower margin. If upper and lower margin remain constant, then 0.29" _might_ be the right value, as long as the font height is correct.
I did some quick calculations, and determined that it looks like Calc thinks the font size is 8 or 9 point (2m + h = 0.29 and m + h = 0.16 means h = 0.12, close enough to 8/72 to suit me.) I changed the subject row from 10 point to 8 point and saw no change on the screen, though the page preview changed to the smaller font size.
I'm not on the trail of why the font size doesn't correspond to that specified. I just tried a few more sizes. The font size and row height do not play together very well.
