Here's a guess. What is the name of a corrupted file? I'm guessing that you are on Windows, and that the extension (.odt, or whatever) has been lost off the file name, perhaps by not ticking the Automatic file extension box in the Save As dialog. If this is the case, then rename the file to add the externsion, and they will again be accessible. If you are on Windows, then you can check by right clicking on the file and Open With...
