You didn't tell us what exactly it is that you want to do. If you just want to create a pdf from your .doc files, then I don't think OpenOffice.org is the thing your looking for. OpenOffice.org is an officesuite with a wordprocessor, spreadsheet, presentation, draw and database component. One of the features of this suite is that it can create PDF-files from the documents it produces and opens.

If you just want to create the PDF's then take the short route and install an application that will function as a virtual printer and create the PDF-files. One example of such a program is PDF-creator (http://www.pdfforge.org/products/pdfcreator/).

If you want to try the OpenOffice.org suite as a replacement for MS Office then by all means do. Don't forget to take a look at the documentation at documentation.openoffice.org and read through the basic how to's and userguides.

Once you have OpenOffice, you will find in the <File> menu a line <Export to PDF>.

I understand that you have a program that will allow me to convert a Microsoft Office Document to a pdf file. I did not readily understand how to use your website to do this. I would appreciate some documentation or tips.

Thanks
Phoebe
