As I understand it, some of the paths (eg. for templates) were removed from 
2.0.3 to stop OOo crashing when users specified bad paths (I do not comment 
on the wisdom of this decision), but will be re-instated in 2.0.4.

I see that there is a release candidate for 2.0.4, so perhaps it is worth a 
try from http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html
Other messages on this list have indicated that this candidate is solid.
