That's interesting. I'm using OOo on winXP and the sounds that come
with the default installation are .wav files. When selecting the files
to list there is a single option (the last one) that is just for
searching for .wav files.

I've just successfully added .wav files to the sound gallery so it
must be something in your configuration/OS that makes it not work.

I'm assuming that you can add other media types to your gallery ok -
if you haven't tried adding anything else - try it and report back
with the results.

I've read somewhere that the gallery relies on java (unsure whether
this is true or not) - so if you've not setup java on your linux box
properly that could also be the problem...

I can not add a .wav file to a gallery theme.

I am trying to figure out if it is an bug or operator
error.

When running impress if I right click on a theme, go to properties
then under Files if I try to add a .wav file, the .wav file does
not show up on the list of files that can be added in the open
file dialog. If I add the filename by hand in the location field
and click OK, I get error message " Unknown graphic format"
this even though I have "file type" set to "WAVE AUDIO (.wav)".

I am running opensuse 10.1. I get this error if I use either
the version of open office that came from Novell, or
the one that came from openoffice.org: OOo_2.0.3_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz
on the page: http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.3/md5sums.html

There seems to be no way to add your own .wav file to any
gallery theme.

I am new to themes. Is this some kind of operator error, or
is it a bug?

Is there a work around?

Thank You
