You are jumping to conclusions but discussing how the current UI can be
changed to avoid getting in trouble with this is far beyond the scope of
this ML. You have named an important point but I'm sure the problem can
be solved within the current way of doing things in OOo.

I didn't talk about programs that are *optimized* for a11y. My
understanding is that most people using a11y support consider MSOffice
to be sufficient for their needs. And AFAIK this program wasn't
rewritten from scratch to get a11y support. So you should read my
comments with the idea in mind that OOo should be able to reach the same
level also without a complete rewrite. In the worst(!) case you had to
throw out the current OOo GUI but you still can keep most of the code
below it.

If you don't believe this then let's agree to disagree.
