Hi,
I am working for a charity. I have some computers donated to a public school
in Mexico. My goal is to load the entire computer with spanish software.
Unfortunately the charity does not have money to buy the software, so I am
using what is available.
1)I have loaded M/S office 2000 US English edition.
2)I want to run it in the Spanish language.
3)I went to control panel/regional settings and changed my 'locale location' to
Spanish(Mexico).
4)I rebooted and 2000 still appeared in English.
5) I downloaded office 2000 service pack 4 (because I believe this offers the
spanish language).
6) I installed office 2000 service pack 4
7) I confirmed my control panel/regional settings are still spanish.
8) A guy told me I should try using Open Office spanish version instead.
9) I downloaded Open Office Spanish version 2.03, but it shows on my desktop as
2.0
10) I opened Open Office writer and the UI is still in English.
11) In OO writer, I went to tools>Options> language, and the UI only gives me
two options
a) default b) US english
12) I changed it to a) default
13) On the same screen I have set the locale setting to Spanish(Mexico)
14) On the same screen I have set the documents WESTERN to Spanish(Mexico)
15) The OO write UI was still in english
16) I rebooted, and tried it again, it is still in english
Can you please tell me, how can I get the OO UI to be in spanish?
