The application help of OOo tries to give a complete list of "regular
expressions". If you feel comfortable using them, please write down
some useful examples and submit your findings to
documentation.openoffice.org, so that all users can learn a bit more.
I would be happy to do that when I get something to work. All the
actual examples given in the help work except the advice right at the
bottom don't; that is about placing search criteria inside parentheses
when AND and OR operators are to be included. The advice seems to
suggest the use of the Unix && or || operators. But as I posted when
the parentheses are used the basic search functionality is lost and also
the Unix operators don't seem to be recognised.
ooops, now I see what you mean. Sorry for the confusion. That last
sentence below the list of regular expressions should have been deleted
a long time ago. I removed it now from the Help (in Help CWS hcshared06)
Thank you for your comments
Uwe
