Hi. Your users will have to be told to insert a new row before
pasting. OpenOffice is way behind in this area.

Using macro (as suggested in one of the comments to
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=14007) is less than
ideal approach when supporting many computers. Macro is not acceptable
at all if we consider newby user, who has to identify the problem, find
relevant macro, install it and learn how to use it.
