Yes, you can not install version 2.x over 1.x.

Yes and no. It is not necessary to uninstall 1.x first. 2.x installs beside.
Furthermore, 2.x will aks (on first start) to take over settings (incl. templates, macro's) from the 1.x installation :-)

Be aware: a bug in the install/start script, make that installing 2.0.4 over an earlier version of 2.x, also asks to copy settings from an 1.x installation (if present on the system). That might lead to loss of your data/settings. So be careful.
