OK, there shouldn't be errors or incompatibilities with the Windows XP
operating system. The installation is quite straight forward. People do
it all the time.

Before installing OpenOffice, visit the openoffice.org website and read
as much of the documentation as you can. Do web searches for anything
that relates to the version of OpenOffice that you have or want to get.
Read anything (that anybody else has written) that you can get your
hands on. Take your time doing this reading before installing
OpenOffice. Once you are comfortable, start installing and enjoy!
