Hi Eduardo,
In Brazil the use of Linux is a lot more accepted than in the many other
parts of the world. Can't you find somebody in your neighbourhood who
can help you with the installation? OpenOffice.org is included in most
Linux distributions. My personal favorite is Mandriva Linux. It's a
merger of Mandrake and Conectiva. Conectiva was already active in Latin
America for a longer time.
If you want to continue with Windows. OpenOffice.org is very compatible
with that system as well.
Cheers,
Jo
I can't write in Portuguese, but maybe this helps:
En Brasil es mucho más acceptado de usar Linux que en muchas otros

puede ayudarte con la instalación. OOo est incluyido en la mayoria de
las distribuciones. My favorito personal es Mandriva Linux. Es Mandrake
y Conectiva juntos. Conectiva ya era activa denantes en Latin America.
Si quieres continuar o tener algunas maquinas que usan Windows.
OpenOffice.org es muy bien compatible con esa sistema también.
Saludos,
Jo

You'll have no trouble with 'pirated' software if you use OOo.
As for a 'good OS' for school use, I believe there is someone on the
list that works very closely with open source software for schools so
I'll post this back to the list for further assistance for you...

Friend Paul,
Thanks a lot!!! Our project is very beautiful and we are finding
anothers partners of this project, but we can not do it with pirate's
softwares. My afraid is the incompability with Windows's OS.
One more question...do you know the good OS that we can use in this
schools and change the MS-windows? We are fighting with the rural
work to kids....and we create this project to teach tecnlogies for
their.
Thanks a lot one more time.
Sds,
Eduardo
