I am using openoffice.org 2.0. If I nubmer a line, e.i. 1.), everytime I press return it adds the next number to the line. I keep trying to turn the automatic numbering button off but it turns itself back on automaticly. It is creating a huge mess of my home work and I find this to be very frustrating. I looked it up in the help menu and the instructions did not work.
Go to Tools > Autocorrect. Click the center tab (Options). About 2/3 of the way down, there is a selection labeled " Apply numbering - symbol: * ". Click the check box to uncheck this selection, then click OK.
