Dear Dan, 75martin's suggestion to deactivate all firewalls and antivirus programmes did the trick - I was able to install 2.0.4 without any problems. I don't remember this issue occurring during my installation of 2.0.3, but from the postings on the forum to which you so kindly provided a link, I see that it was alive and well as long ago as 2.0.2. In any event, thanks for the reference - it certainly was a great help to me !...
