That's rather scary. I would not use a tool that was known as losing data.
For one thing, you _must_ always backup. I don't want to tell you of
all the hard-disk failures, malware, and accidents (by far the most
common form of data loss) that I've heard of. I myself have been saved
more than once by a good backup, and I'm not much more than your
everyday power user.
