Really? Your original post was: > I just installed v2.04 over 2.03 and I still cannot use any of the Send > as email options. OOo cannot find an appropriate email client. > > Under Tools > Options > Internet, there's nothing that let's me set the > email client. > > Thanks. I see nothing in that post regarding OS or Thunderbird. BTW: Thunderbird is a Mozilla product. As others have told you, that option is *only* available via linux (or possibly Mac, I've not looked). However along the line you were provided with a solution for your problem. When I commented in the thread regarding linux I prefixed the thread as: [linux] Re: Send as Email not working in 2.04 which is a polite way to alert others that the thread discussion is related to linux & not Windows Xwhatever or Mac. The overall problem of "Send as Email not working in 2.04" is not just a Windows, Mac, Linux, problem. Given that the base complaints originate from Mozilla base products w/OOo, it is instead more related to a lack of coordination between the OOo and Mozilla (Thunderbird, Mozilla/Netscape, Seamonkey) teams. OOo has faulty Send as Email (SAE) scripts. The OOo teams are well aware of this and have been for a very long time. The Mozilla teams don't help this in that they are aware of the problem and have been aware of the problem since at least 2002. SAE not working in 2.0.4 is an issue that needs fixing regardless of OS. If any Mozilla products/projects are not working in OOo, the OOo should state up front that those product are not supported, don't work, will or won't be fixed etc. Most of the "fixes" that I've looked at in linux are simple script changes. Changes that shouldn't be rocket science to change. However I am an end user, so I shouldn't be expected to patch scripts just to get this to work. I suppose that there could indeed be a separate thread for linux, Mac, Windows XP, Win98, Win2KP (I have one of those). But perhaps it would simply be better to keep this thread going and instead prefix the response with [place your operating system here] so that folks can: 1) look at the responses for their OS or filter accordingly, and 2) others with actuall OOo SAE problems can look at the fixes/responses that others have found on their particuar OS. Keep in mind that OOo is a multi-OS program and effort.
