Text documents and Slide shows serve two different purposes. So,
this is not likely to happen.
Here are the links to two examples: the *.odt text file and the
*odp presentation file based upon it:

While they contain the same information, their designs are
different. In Writer, I had to describe how to change the background.
In Impress, I could show the change. This is just one of many
examples.
