Colin, use the "Write" function in your email client, not the "Reply"
function, to ask a new question. You have attached your question to a
thread about a completely unrelated matter.
In Calc, to prevent automatic capitalising of the first letter, use
Tools >Autocorrect : "Options" tab. De-select "Capitalise first letter
of every sentence".
If capitalising continues, you will also have to de-select Tools >Cell
Contents >AutoInput (which is not supposed to have that effect, but it
can do).
