Please no attachments.
Normally - I suppose you are using MS Windows - if you make OpenOffice
to be used for your *.doc files, it will open the files.
However if you say "correctly", maybe you mean that some complex
features are not perfectly converted. This has been observed by many
users of OpenOffice.
