I've spent the last hour trying to change the default font settings in
my OO.o 2.03 on Ubuntu amd-64 Dapper. I did this once before, a long
time ago, and now I wish to change the font that all new documents use
to a different font. The only module I ever use is Writer. I have used
OO.o since StarOffice 6 and have never ever launched Calc or Impress.

First, I launched OO.o Writer, clicked on Tools > Options > Writer >
Basic Fonts (western) and changed all the fonts from the old one to the
new one. Then I closed the window and closed OO.o. Then I relaunched
OO.o, and the same old font was the default. It did not take the
changes I made.

So then I decided the problem is in the default template that is used
for all new documents when another template is not specified. But I
can't figure out what that template is or where it is located. I can go
into File > Templates > Organize, and I find a lot of templates I
created for myself, but I can't find a template with a name like
"default" or anything indicating it is what is used for a default new
document. And if I do find said template, I don't know how to change it
and if there is anything special I need to do when I save it.

I tried the Help files, but I can't find the answer in there either.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
